Deaconess Mary Braxton Waller, 98, widow of the late Rev. Stephen Shepard Waller, passed into eternal life Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Riverside Convalescent Home-Saluda, surrounded by her family.

She was born 1919 in Middlesex County to the late George Edwin Braxton II and Mary Elizabeth Key Braxton.

She was predeceased by a son, Samuel David Waller; grandson, Ramon Gene Scott; great-grandson, Donald Edward Thrower II; sisters, Viola B. Baylor, Minnie B. Hodges and Ernestine B. Melvin.

She is survived by sons, Robert Waller (Mamie), Stephen Waller Jr., and James Waller Sr; daughters, Gloria Waller-Scott, Elizabeth W. Morris, Gladys W. Faulcon, and Barbara W. Johnson (Wilbur).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Rising Valley Baptist Church, John Clayton Hwy. in Gloucester.   Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords.
