Our beloved mother and grandmother of Mathews, Va., passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 11, 2026 at the age of 90. Mary was a dedicated caregiver known as Ms. Mary who loved taking care of others for most of her life. She also loved to spend time with family and friends playing cards, bingo and enjoyed reading a romance novel while watching her westerns. Her most enjoyable pastime was shopping, eating out and getting her hair and nails done. She is survived by her children, Robbie Williams and John William Benson; her grandchildren, Robert Williams Jr., Robin Longworth (James), Matthew Singleton, Joshua Williams, and Calum Gunnar Benson, and a number of grand-pups! She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Kathleen Bennett; her husbands, Purnell Williams and Johnny Benson, and her daughter, Mary Kay Carter.
