Martin wins collegiate golf honor at HSC

Hunter Martin, a 2018 Gloucester High School graduate and now a sophomore at Hampden-Sydney College, was named to the Division III Second Team All American Golf Team.

Martin was ranked 18th in the nation and sixth in regional rankings with a 71.69 scoring average through six tournaments and 16 rounds. He twice had low rounds of 67 to go along with shooting a 138 through 36 holes and a 210 through 54 holes. He had three rounds in the 60s to go along with eight rounds of par or better.

Martin earned one top five finish, two top 10 tournament finishes and three top 20 finishes. As a freshman, he won his initial collegiate tournament.

Martin was also the number one ranked golfer in the country in first round scoring with a 71 average and fifth in par four scoring with an average of 4.06. He was additionally tied for seventh in par three scoring with 3.06 and eighth in birdies with 58.
