Martha Juanita Young, 64, of Hayes, Va., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012.

Martha was a native of New Albany, Miss., and former resident of Forest Park, Ga. and Aurora, Ill., before moving to Hayes in 1988. She worked for Dan Daniels Distribution Center with AAFES as a quality inspector.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Rowe E. Potts and Clarence J. Potts; two brothers, Paul K. Potts and Joe H. Potts, and a sister, Dottie E. Negre.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Lynn Starling and her husband Mark of Hayes, Amber Juanita Gaskins and her husband Dustin of Gloucester, Va.; a son, Rodney Wayne Taylor and his wife Jane of Newport News, Va.; a brother, James Doyle Potts of Aurora, Ill., and a sister, Madge Potts of Thornton, Colo. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kassandra, Jamie, Isaiah, Braxton, and Evan, and a special friend, Charles Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in The Peninsula Pentecostals, 404 Sharon Drive, Newport News, Va., by the Rev. Jared Arango. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Gardens, Hayes. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, in Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
