Marsha M. Nye, 79, passed away on Aug. 21, 2018 after a long illness.

She was born on March 12, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, to Alton Moos and Lillian Ellsworth. She married the love of her life, Frank E. Nye, on April 30, 1960. They lived in the Detroit area until 1973 when they moved to Virginia. She was a resident of Gloucester County for 44 years. Marsha retired from Kingsmill Resort as a conference concierge in 2001. Marsha dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in May 1962 and was a member of the Gloucester Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Moos and Lillian Ellsworth; her sister, Sandra Caverly; her granddaughter, Ashley Nye, and her great-granddaughter, Akima Nye.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank Nye; son, Todd Nye and his wife Verna; son, Daniel Nye and his wife Lori; daughter, Francine Jenkins and her husband Freddie, and son, Michael Nye. She is also survived by grandchildren, Evan Nye and wife Brecia, Kyle Nye, Alyssa Rentz and husband Darrien, Kasey Nye, Rachel Nye, Stetson Jenkins, Mercedez Jenkins, and other grandchildren, along with numerous nephews, nieces and her brother, Richard Moos and his wife Callie, and their two sons.

The family wishes to note the dear friends of Marsha: Diane Kutcher, Faye Roane, Alberta Hannigan, Suzanne Dezern, M’liss Caldwell, Tawanda Williamson, and Robert and Donna Belvin.

They were always there for Marsha and the family deeply appreciates this. We would also like to thank Virginia Health Hospice, particularly Angela, Debbie and Kelly, for the superb care they gave to Marsha. They were always respectful and gentle.

The services will be private.
