‘Market Nights on Main’ growing in popularity

The Gloucester Main Street Association is beginning to get some good response from its summer event series, "Market Nights on Main," executive director Jen Christman said Tuesday.

Christman said that the promotion, held at the gazebo across from the Morgan Building, is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. each Wednesday during June, July and August. Last week, 10 vendors participated, she said, and that number has been growing as more locally-grown produce becomes available.

Besides several farm vendors, Christman said the event also attracts some people selling crafts and baked goods. A popular vendor has been Boroughs Land Farm of Barhamsville, which has bison meat and goat cheese among other products for sale. Hall Town Produce of White Marsh and Holly Fork Farm of West Point have been among the growers bringing produce for sale.
