Market Days returns this weekend

The 38th annual Mathews Market Days will kick off Friday in and around Mathews Court House. This year’s festival will showcase more than 90 arts and crafts exhibitors, featuring the work of local artists.

Market Days activities will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Saturday night’s Street Dance is scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. Admission and parking for the two-day festival is free.

On Saturday only, shuttle bus transportation will be available at no cost from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., according to Market Days Committee spokesperson Trudy Flippin. The bus will pick up at Lee-Jackson/Thomas Hunter Middle School (on Church Street/Route 611) and at Mathews High School (on Buckley Hall Road/Route 198) and stop at the fire station near the court green. A designated area for handicapped loading and unloading is located on the corner of Court and Church streets.
