Market Days poster winner

Robin Marshall of Gloucester was named the winner of this year’s Mathews Market Days Poster Contest. Marshall’s entry—a painting of an osprey with Wolf Trap Lighthouse in the background—was selected from three entries, with the unveiling held Saturday afternoon at the Bay School Community Arts Center. Marshall also won the poster contest in 2013, and that poster—of a heron with New Point Comfort Light in the background—will be reissued this year. Although not being sold separately, the 2013 poster is available to be purchased in combination with this year’s winning artwork. The posters can be purchased at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center and at the festival itself. The 43rd annual Mathews Market Days will be held on Sept. 8-9. ...
