Mathews Market Days announced the winner of the 2025 Market Days Poster Contest in a brief ceremony Saturday at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews. The winning artist was Alexander Roahrig, at right, for his digital image “A waterman’s life for me,” shown below center. Second place went Wanda Huestis for her acrylic painting, “Bibs & Boots,” left, and third place went to Melissa Orendorff (not pictured) for her collage and paint mixture “ICHTHYOPHILE” (Fisherman), bottom right. The 51st annual Mathews Market Days will be held Sept. 5 and 6 on and around the Mathews court green. This year’s event theme is “Bibs & Boots.”
