This year’s Mathews Market Days Home Goods Show competition was quite successful, with more entries than the two previous years combined, according to organizer Cheryl Dale. All of this year’s entries were from adults.

Best of Show winners were: Baking—Martha Arnold (Orange Slice Cookies with Pecans); Quilting—Sandy Warhol (Dresden Plate); and Needlework—Bobby Hatton (3-D Victorian house).

Other winners were:

Baking: First place—Karen Jones (dark chocolate chip cookies); second place—Janet Burgess (peanut butter cookies with peanut butter cream filling).

Quilting: First place—Sandy Warhol (flower basket using the watercolor technique); second place—Cheryl Dale (Baltimore Album); third place—Jackie Wilton (modern sampler).

Table Runner: First place—Cheryl Dale (Stars in the Garden); second place—Alice Truscott (Whale of a Tail); third place—Alice Truscott (Checkerboard).
