The Northern Neck Sail & Power Squadron is offering a number of classes and seminars in October and November for boaters. They will be held in the NNSPS classroom at 453C North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Marine navigation An eight-week course on marine navigation will be held on Wednesdays, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28. Topics include charts/navigation aids, plotting courses, and determining direction and distance. There will be exercises on GPS set-up and display information, waypoints, routes, staying on course by GPS and traditional methods, and more. The cost is $95, with a $20 discount for squadron members. Boating Safety Card A two-day class for those seeking their Virginia Boating Safety Card will be offered twice, each time on successive Saturdays. The first class will be on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, and the second class will be on Dec. 5 and 12. The time is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all sessions.
