MARION PAUL HUDGINS WHITE

Marion Paul Hudgins White, 74, of Gloucester, died Dec. 10, 2013 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
 
Marion Paul was a native of New Point. For many years he was the manager of the Sears Roebuck Men’s Department of which he retired, as well as retired from the Methodist ministry, having served several churches in the Rappahannock/York District.
 
MP also enjoyed coaching baseball for American Legion Post 75, Northumberland High School, the Lancaster Little League, and the Lancaster JV baseball team. MP was active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was chaplain for the White Stone Fire Department. He enjoyed playing golf, attending athletic events and listening to country music. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Grand Lodge Lancaster Union No. 88 and The Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason No. 41.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Georgia Hudgins White.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Basta and husband Harry Haywood; son, Paul Scott White and wife Maritza; four grandchildren, Kalob Basta, August, Ileana and Rebekah White; a brother, Claude White and wife Janice; two nephews, Craig and Gilby White, and a niece, Linda White-Watford.
 
A funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Moore, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Susan. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
