MARION NORMAN BARTLETT SR.

Marion Norman Bartlett Sr., 91 of Topping, Va., formerly of Richmond, Va., died on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his home.

He was a meat cutter for many years at Ukrop’s and Koslow’s markets. He was a World War II veteran and served in Burma and China during the war.

He loved to bowl and was in many leagues in Richmond, then in Gloucester, Va. He was a Deacon Emeritus of Westville Baptist Church and loved his Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Carolyn “Ginny” Bartlett; a son, Gifford Leroy Bartlett; a granddaughter, Nikki Bartlett; two step-sons, Patrick and Bill Behl; five step-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Savage Bartlett; his second wife, Grace Wingo Bartlett; a son, Marion Norman Bartlett Jr.; his parents, and seven siblings.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Westville Baptist Church, 105 Main Street, Mathews, Va., with visitation one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial followed at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston, Va., at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, was in charge of the arrangements.
