Marion Moore McRoy, 84, of Williamsburg, left this world on Dec. 25, 2018 to be with her Lord and Savior, and to spend Christmas with her beloved husband, Archie, who had gone before.

She had also lost some of her sisters and her three brothers. Marion had three children, Kathy Burchell (Mickey) of Gwynn’s Island, Virginia, Lynn McRoy (Teresa) of Toano, Virginia, and Glenn McRoy of Williamsburg. She had seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of loving nieces and nephews, and several she considered her family. She was very fortunate to have spent the last six months of her life with her sister Kitty at the Gloucester House. 

Marion spent the majority of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Known to many as “Meme,” she enjoyed spending time with family on “Sister Day,” playing games and laughing. She was a devoted Grace Baptist Church member for many years.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Gloucester House Senior Living for the loving care they gave to Marion.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Grace Baptist Church, 1013 Penniman Road, Williamsburg, Va. 23185. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 723, Mathews, Va. 23109 or to Grace Baptist Church, “Mission Fund.” 

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, assisted the family with arrangements.
