Marine tech certification

Alex Langford of the Deltaville Yachting Center has earned Virginia Marine Technician Certification. To achieve certification, Langford has completed 4,000 on-the-job hours along with 280 hours of technical training. Training included ABYC Systems Certification, Suzuki factory training, Virginia Safe Boating, Diesel and Gas Engine Repair, Marine Construction and Repair, Computer Competency, Workplace Math, OSHA 10-hour Safety Course, Sailboat Rigging and Marine Electrical training. Maynard Stowe from the Virginia Department of Labor visited DYC to present Langford with his Marine Technician Journeyman Card and Apprenticeship Completion Certificate.
