MARIE ANNETTE SIGLEY

Marie Annette Sigley, 69, of Gloucester, died Feb. 1, 2016 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

Annette was a graduate of Gloucester High School and Riverside School of Nursing. She was born Aug. 25, 1946 to Isaac and Louise King who preceded her in death. Annette was a Registered Nurse and retired in 2012 after serving 35 years as Medical Director for the City of Newport News Juvenile Services. 

She loved her granddaughters and will be remembered for her passion towards her family and her caring and loving nature.

She is survived by her son, Chris Sigley; brother, Michael King and wife Debby; two granddaughters, Gracie and Olivia Sigley and their mother Carol Sigley; nephews, David King and fiancée Karen, Bryan King, and Jason King and wife Katie, and a granddaughter at heart, Corinne Hughes. 

Graveside memorial service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart and the Rev. Bill West will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Gloucester Point Cemetery, 1860 Hayes Road, Gloucester Point. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.

A special thank you from the family to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital ICU for the exceptional care they gave to Annette. 

In memory of Annette, contributions may be given to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, 601 Children’s Way, Norfolk, Va. 23507.
