MARIAN PATRICIA ‘PATSY’ HUDGINS MOORE

Marian Patricia “Patsy” Hudgins Moore, 69, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

 She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, Va. She retired from Gloucester County Public School in 2013 with over 33 years of service to Botetourt Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church. She had a great love for plants that she had all over her house. 

She was preceded in death by her father, William Maryus Hudgins and is survived by her daughter, Teresa Horsley Thrift and her husband Thomas; her mother, Marian Alyce Minter Hudgins; the great loves of her life, her grandchildren, Brittany Thrift and Zachary Thrift, and her special cousin, Eloise Rainier.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the family receiving friends until 8 o’clock and also at Patsy’s home on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

The family would like to give special thanks to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue and to the staff of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital for the care that they gave to Patsy.
