Marian (Pat) Binns Reardon died peacefully in her home in Mathews, Virginia on Wednesday morning, Dec. 28, 2016 at the age of 78.

Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul; her children, Michael (Anita) of Hudgins, Virginia and Patrick (Michelle) of Hiram, Georgia; her grandchildren, Jennifer Rainwater of Alvin, Texas, Troy Reardon of Windsor, Virginia, Rachel Reardon of Warrenton, Virginia, Samantha Reardon and Rebecca Reardon of Hiram, Texas and her five great-grandchildren.

Pat was born on July 23, 1938 in Richmond, Virginia to Marian and Louis Binns. She graduated from St. Gertrude’s High School in 1956 where she participated in basketball.

Pat graduated from the Maryview Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She was very proud of her career in nursing practice in Michigan and Virginia retiring in 2002 as a school nurse for Mathews County.

Pat was generous in her community and volunteered with Hands Across Mathews and her church. Her faith was important to her and she was an active and dedicated member of the Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Mathews. She was so loved by her friends and neighbors. She loved living both in the Peary and Lovers Lane neighborhoods.

A Wake was held at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. The funeral Mass was held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at the Church of Francis de Sales on Lovers Lane with a reception afterward. Interment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Richmond. Father Gerry Kaggwa officiated at the Mass. All who attended celebrated Pat’s life.
