Margaret Ann Barker, 75, of Hayes, passed away Jan. 31, 2016.
Born May 24, 1940 in Wakefield, Va., she lived in Newport News, King and Queen Court House, Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, and Leesville, La., before moving to Hayes in 2015.
Margaret enjoyed cats, crocheting, country line dancing, and yard sales. Sweet and funny, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Phillip J. Barker; son, David Barker of Oregon, and granddaughter, Jenifer Travers of Virginia; daughter, Terri Blankenship and grandson, Noah Blankenship of Virginia; son, Brian Barker of Oregon; daughter, Lisa Barker, son-in-law, Curt Cronister, and grandson, Cal Barker of Maryland; sisters, Judy Miniclier of Alabama, and June Plasters of Virginia, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heron Cove at Sanders and Riverside Walter Reed Hospice for their loving care and support.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point, with a reception to follow at Coleman’s Crossing community clubhouse.
