A graveside service for Marcia Bennett, 85, of New York, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, Mathews. She died Sept. 28, 2016.

She was a former resident of Mathews County.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and is survived by her three sons, Bruce, Jim and Drew Bennett.

She was a journalist for decades and continued freelancing after retiring as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s food editor in 1991. 

A reception will follow the service at the Kingston Parish House, Mathews.
