Local businesses made up a big portion of the winners in the recently announced Coastal Virginia Magazine Best Of Reader’s Choice Awards 2022.

The Coastal Virginia Best Of is awarded annually in several categories including: Home and Garden, Food and Drink, and Travel and Leisure. Individuals can vote for as many categories as they would like but can only vote once per category during the contest to ensure fairness. A total of 166,252 votes were cast this year.

Local winners included:

Good Shot Judy: Best Local Band (Cover or Tribute), Gold. Best Local Band (Original Music), Overall Gold. Best Music Act (Classical, Jazz, Other), Overall Gold.

Flat Iron Crossroads: Best Place to Hear Local Bands, Bronze.

Farmasea Restaurant: Best Brunch, Gold; Best Local Chef (William Mitchell), Overall Gold. Best New Restaurant, Overall Gold. Best Restaurant Overall, Gold.

Sweet Tooth Café: Best Lunch, Bronze.

Juan’s Mexican Café and Cantina: Best Mexican Restaurant, Gold.
