Dr. David Malmquist will be the guest speaker at next week’s virtual meeting of the Friends of Dragon Run. At the meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, on the Zoom platform, he uses his recently published book, the “Chesapeake Bay Explorer’s Guide: Natural History, Plants and Wildlife,” as a springboard to explore some of the issues facing the bay.

He will also talk about how watershed gems such as Dragon Run can help preserve and protect bay health. Malmquist recently retired as Director of News and Media Services at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, where he spent 23 years telling the stories of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
