Making hometown connections

Have you ever wondered what happened to an old friend you haven’t seen for years? Someone from school who moved away, or who spent a few summers in Gloucester or Mathews with their grandparents, then disappeared? Perhaps you used to see someone at the old skating rink or the bowling alley or the beach or the yacht club and you’d like to touch base again.

Among the Gazette-Journal’s thousands of readers are people all across the country who once lived or vacationed in Gloucester or Mathews, and they maintain their hometown connection through their hometown newspaper.

Please send us your friend’s name, a bit of information about how you met, and a special memory the two of you share, and we’ll try to include it in a future issue. If your friend is out there and wants to be found, we’ll let you know. Perhaps he or she has been thinking about you, as well.
