Main Street Trust to continue façade grant program

The Gloucester Main Street Preservation Trust announced it is continuing its façade grant program for Gloucester’s Main Street this year. Executive director Jenny Crittenden said the projects selected to participate this year will receive up to $40,000 in improvements to their buildings and sites along the commercial core of Gloucester’s Main Street. The grant is a 50/50 match.

Grant award winners were:

—Arc of the Peninsula/Puller Center, up to $20,000 for parking lot and beautification projects;

—Hodges & Bryant, up to $8,374.50 to pressure wash the building’s exterior, add new lights, install planters, and other improvements;

—Village Trade Center, up to $8,600, pressure washing, caulking of windows and columns, repair handrails and concrete steps;

—Fairfield Foundation, up to $2,000 for replacement of the garage door and repair of stucco to the 1930 Texaco Service station building;
