Main Street tradition continues Sunday with holiday open house

The Gloucester Main Street Association will hold its annual open house, a tradition for more than 20 years, on Sunday afternoon in Gloucester Court House. The event will take place rain or shine.

 

Businesses will welcome the public to Main Street with free refreshments, holiday specials, great selection of merchandise and good old-fashioned customer service, said Ashley Gilmartin, executive director of GMSA.

 

A number of businesses indicated they plan to be open on Sunday—a day they usually are closed—Gilmartin said, while some others that are usually open on Sunday will also benefit from the crowds visiting that day. Many businesses are excited to draw extra attention to the village this weekend, with many stores and restaurants also open Saturday to capture some traffic from the Christmas Parade, which is being sponsored by the Gloucester Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
