Main Street plan wins board approval

A plan was approved Tuesday night to develop a series of key projects and strategies for the revitalization of the Route 17 business corridor, including Gloucester’s Main Street.

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors, following a public hearing in the colonial courthouse, unanimously approved the Gloucester Court House Village Sub-Area Plan. This village plan will be included with Gloucester’s overall comprehensive plan.

Prior to the public hearing, Gloucester’s planning director Anne Ducey-Ortiz said she was really pleased with how the plan turned out, which was a collaborative effort between the county and the Main Street Preservation Trust.

The plan, which has involved several months of planning and community outreach, involves three main concepts.
