Mad Batter took the long road to her baking business

Although she has already earned a degree in library and information services from the University of Maine, Angela Wojtaszczyk (“It is Polish, pronounced Voy-Taws-Chick”) now holds a special degree in baking. She owns and operates Mad Batter Cakes by Angela.

“Most people I meet who love to cook and bake say they grew up loving to do so. I was a late bloomer, as you will see with my story,” Angela confided.

Following high school graduation in Hampton, “In fact I spent the first 35 years of my life in Hampton,” Angela worked part-time at a couple of places before being hired by the Bateman Library at Langley Air Force Base. She remained there until the contract was up for renewal. By then a mother of a fine son, Angela thought it best to look for a more stable job for income. “So what perfect thing to do? I became a Hampton Police Officer.” It was here Angela met “my one and only James Wojtaszczyk.” They were married in 2009.
