Mad Batter Café holds grand opening

The Mad Batter Café and Nook, located at the Shops on Hickory Fork in Gloucester, combines two passions of owner Angela Wojtaszczyk—baking and books.

The new store, located on Hickory Fork Road south of Gloucester Court House, celebrated its grand opening on Saturday afternoon, with cupcake samples and live music performed by Eric Gambardella of Surf & Sound Events LLC.Wojtaszczyk began a custom-order baking business—The Mad Batter Cakes by Angela—in 2014, “which has grown beyond anything I could have ever imagined,” she said on her website.

In 2019, she moved from Hampton to Gloucester; a year later achieved a childhood dream of owning a bookstore.
