Friends of Machicomoco State Park will host Machicomoco’s third Music in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the park in Hayes.
The opening act will be performed by Hunter Owens of Mathews County on his acoustic guitar playing a mix of folk/rock and country favorites from artists such as John Denver and James Taylor.
One of Virginia’s leading blues/rock music groups, The Tom Euler Trio, will then take over for an evening of music. The trio is renowned for its high-energy performances and undeniable onstage chemistry, a release stated. Featuring Tom Euler on guitar, Wes Mallory on bass, and Max Parker on drums, the group blends original compositions with covers from groups such as The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top.
The music starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the park’s Interpretive Area and will wrap up around 8. Those attending are invited to bring a picnic dinner and lawn chairs for this event. The performance is free to park visitors. A $5/vehicle park entrance fee applies and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Founded in 2022, Friends of Machicomoco State Park is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization, which helps to support the park’s mission by enhancing visitor experience through a variety of programs and projects.
