MABLE ROBINSON GAMMON

Mable Robinson Gammon, 88, Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 7, 2016. 

She was born in Emporia, Va., on April 4, 1928 to James P. and Jeannie C. Robinson. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Edward Carlton Gammon; sister, Wilma Doherty; two brothers, Julian and Jack Robinson, and one granddaughter, Brooke Alexandra Haynes.

She is survived by two daughters, Janis G. (Nick) Dillard and Joan B.G. (Thomas) Haynes; and one grandson, Thomas Edward Haynes.

She graduated from Pan American Secretarial School and worked for many years at the Bank of Virginia and Mortimers. She was a wonderful person and a caregiver to many family members for several years.

She was a member of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond and attended Faith Baptist Church in Mathews County, Va. She resided at Heron Cove in Gloucester County for the last year of her life.

Her family would like to thank the loving and caring staff and residents at Heron Cove for their friendship, care and support.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Woody Funeral Home-Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23229, where her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Carlton, in Westhampton Memorial and Cremation Park, Richmond.
