A funeral for Lyinel T. Forrest Jr., 71, of Mathews, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Zion Baptist Church Cardinal. He died Sept. 29, 2019.

He was the husband of Catherine Diggs Forrest, and was a decorated Vietnam War veteran.

Immediate family viewing will be at the church from 5-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and public viewing from 6-7:30.

A formal obituary will be printed at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hands Across Mathews.
