LULA LUSK NUTTALL

Lula Lusk Nuttall, 90, a native of Newport News, Va., and a resident of Gloucester since 1950, died on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Davis W. and Martha Ellen Lusk, and was preceded in death by her husbands, James Walter Nuttall and Edwin Rudolph Nuttall; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Nuttall; grandson, Christopher James Hubbard, and her only brother, Frank W. Smith and his wife Audrey C. Smith of Newport News.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith N. Clifton of Gloucester, and sons, David J. Hubbard and his wife Carolyn of Carlisle, Pa.; Walter L. Nuttall of Gloucester Point, and D. Keith Nuttall and his wife Sandra of Gloucester; stepdaughters, Barbara N. Quillian and her husband Thomas, Edith N. Parkes and her husband Ralph; her granddaughters, Nicole H. Lawson of Ford, Va., and Lesley N. Reffo of Gloucester; grandsons, Scott J. Hubbard of North East, Md., and Jason Lee Nuttall of Bena; stepgranddaughter, Nicole E. Brown of Gloucester, and numerous great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

She attended Union Baptist Church and Beulah Baptist Church in Ware Neck, and was retired from Tidewater Newspapers, Inc., publisher of Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal where she was secretary and treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for more than 30 years.

In respecting the wishes of the deceased, the only service will be a private graveside service and interment at Rosewell Memorial Gardens, Ordinary, Va., with the Rev. Charles Anderson. There will be a reception for the family and friends at Beulah Baptist Church on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
