A funeral for Louise Ward Sheppard, 76, of Mathews, formerly of Bridgeport, Conn., was held at 2 p.m. Monday in Emmaus Baptist Church, North. She died Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Sheppard of Chesapeake, Sharon Hayes of Mathews, and Regina Freeman of Meriden, Conn.; a brother, Thomas Milton Ward of Middlesex; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Poplar Woods Cemetery, Cardinal.

Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins, was in charge.
