A funeral service for Louise Howard Holmes Carter of Gloucester, was held Saturday, Dec. 22, in the First United Baptist Church at noon. She died Dec. 18, 2018.

She was a 1952 graduate of the Gloucester Training School. She was food service manager at T.C. Walker School, and retired from Eastern State Hospital as a nurse’s assistant. She was a member of the First United Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Robert Carter Jr.; four children, Bradley, Henry, Kenneth and Linda Holmes; stepson, Robert Carter III; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the church cemetery.
