LOUIS OGLE HODGES

A graveside service for Louis Ogle Hodges, 105, of Gloucester, was held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Ware Episcopal Church, Gloucester. He died Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

He was born on August 2, 1906. Mr. Hodges put himself through college and law school at George Washington University by moonlighting as a taxi driver. After practicing law, he joined the banking industry rising to Vice President with National Savings and Trust (now SunTrust) in Washington, D.C., retiring in 1971.

He and his wife resided in many communities in Virginia including Hallieford in Mathews County and, most recently, Clay Bank in Gloucester.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ballos, a resident of The Hermitage in Richmond.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Daniel O. Worthington.
