Lori died on Jan. 7, 2026. She was 57 and a lifelong resident of Mathews County. She graduated from Mathews High School in 1986 and graduated from Longwood College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She was employed by Riverside Health Systems for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson W. Buchanan.

She is survived by her daughter, Aimee L. Respress; son, Michael Respress; her mother, Connie H. Shelton (Preston); two brothers, Steven W. Buchanan and Kevin W. Buchanan (Rachel); one aunt, Geneva Munn, and many friends.

Instead of flowers, send donations to Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. Interment will be private.
