Lola Mae Haywood, age 70, of Hayes, went to her Heavenly home on Jan. 9, 2012.

Lola Mae was a very active member of Union Baptist Church since 1951 and a proud member of the Cornerstone Sunday School class.

She enjoyed laughing and being with her family and friends. Lola Mae sought and found the good and beauty in everything she encountered. She will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Haywood; parents, Stephenson B. and Lola Hall Swindeck; and brother, James B. Swindeck.

She is survived by sons, Stephen L. Haywood and Douglas R. Haywood and wife Sarah; twin daughters, Carmen Haywood and Susan H. Jenkins and husband Greg; grandchildren, Lauren Jenkins-Felger, Holly D. Jenkins, Wesley Haywood; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Savannah Riley, Jacob and Brentley; and nephew, William B. Swindeck.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
