Lois Owens Fitchett, 88, of Port Haywood, Va., passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Riverside Convalescent Center-Mathews.

She was born to Charles Malcolm and Evelyn Owens on October 31, 1927 in Mathews, Va., and lived there all of her life. She was a homemaker and a dedicated wife and mother. She especially enjoyed needlework and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Benjamin H. “Benny” Fitchett; son, Frank Fitchett; daughter, Cynthia Bridges (Herb); granddaughter, Kathryn B. Jackson (Larry) and her great-granddaughter, Ellory Jackson.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. Visitation for family and friends was held one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at St. Paul Annex Cemetery, Susan, Va.
