Lockerby running unopposed for school board seat

Kellie Lockerby, 53, is the only candidate running for the at-large seat on the Gloucester County School Board currently held by Brenda Mack, who is not seeking reelection.
Originally from Ohio, Lockerby said she and her husband moved to Gloucester permanently when he retired in 2013. She said they had lived off and on in the local area prior to that while her husband was in the service.
Lockerby said she is a U.S. Army veteran who has had the opportunity to volunteer and work in the local school system. Her adult children attended Gloucester County Public Schools and she and her husband adopted a special needs child who recently started preschool in the new autism class at Bethel Elementary.
Lockerby is the co-chairman of the GCPS Special Education Advisory Committee and represents Region 3 on the state special education advisory committee.
