Locals bring home pickleball medals

Members of the Gloucester Pickleball Club Association brought home medals in two tournaments held recently.

Competing with about 1,000 players in the Fasenra Virginia Beach Cup, a number of members medaled, as follows:

Leslie Siman-Tov and Andrea Kinser, women’s doubles silver for skill level 3.5, ages 50-59;

Tim Clements and Ricky Kinser, men’s doubles silver for skill levels 3.0-3.5, ages 60-69;

Douglas Thomas, silver in men’s singles for skill level 3.5, ages 60 and up.

Ricky Kinser also took silver in men’s singles for skill level 3.0, ages 60 and above;

Leslie Siman-Tov took silver in women’s singles, skill levels 4.0-4.5, 50 and older;

Carlos Morales, fifth in men’s doubles, skill levels 4.0-4.5, ages 50-59; and fourth in mixed doubles, ages 50-59, skill level 4.5, ages 50 and above.

James Callis and Christine Conrad of Mathews placed fourth in mixed doubles, skill level 4.5, ages 35-49.

In addition, father and son duo Carlos and Antonio Morales placed first on Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Norfolk Young Life Pickleball Tournament held at Old Dominion University. They defeated seven other teams in the advanced level.
