Local residents appointed to state boards

Several local residents were appointed to state boards, Gov. Ralph Northam announced Saturday.

David Lands of DreamLands Farm, Gloucester, was named to the Virginia Horse Industry Board. Michael Congrove of Gwynn, president of Oyster Seed Holdings, Inc., and James R. Sowers III of Mathews, owner of Chapel Creek Oyster Company, LLC, were appointed to the Virginia Marine Products Board, and Matthew Harris of Hartfield, manager of Harris Farms, Inc., was reappointed to the Virginia Spirits Board.
