Local residents among CNU graduates

The following local students graduated from Christopher Newport University during commencement exercises May 14. The students received degrees as follows:

Taylor A. Byrd of Gloucester, bachelor of science in biochemistry; Danielle Marie DeLucia of Cobbs Creek, bachelor of arts in psychology; Justin Earl Hansford of Gloucester, bachelor of science in organismal biology; Lindsay Rochelle Hendrix of Gloucester, bachelor of arts in English; Jacob Robert Houston of Hayes, bachelor of arts in political science;

Also, Tayler Renae Jordan of Port Haywood, bachelor of arts in psychology; McKenna Elyse Kozitzki of Hayes, bachelor of arts in English; Andrew Hardin Matney of Hayes, bachelor of arts in history; Madison Jane McCann of Mathews, bachelor of science in environmental biology; Sydney Paige Oden of Gloucester, bachelor of arts in psychology; Robert Allen Piatt of Gloucester, bachelor of arts in fine arts;

Also, Lauren Taylor Scott of Hayes, bachelor of science in organismal biology; Kristina L. Watkins of Gloucester, master of arts in teaching in education; and Ernest Sterling Wright of Foster, bachelor of business administration in marketing. 

Byrd, Hansford, Hendrix, Jordan, Oden and Piatt were also named to the CNU dean’s list for the spring semester. 

Several other local CNU students were also named to the spring semester dean’s list. They were Sarah Colby, Olivia Edwards, Hannah Green, Sierra Hogge, Sarah Moore and Asa Skinner, all of Gloucester; Laura Brady of Hayes; Allison Payne of Saluda; Savannah Tilghman of Port Haywood, and Kate van Emmerik of Onemo. The recognition requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average.
