Local pastor starts apologetics ministry: ‘Faith Makes Sense’

William “Bill” Yomes, pastor of Reedswood Christian Church in Gloucester, has started his own apologetics ministry called “Faith Makes Sense.”

According to Yomes, apologetics is the rational defense and explanation of the Christian faith that extends beyond the Bible. The Faith Makes Sense website states that the goal of the ministry is “to provide the everyday-Christian with practical answers to the questions that challenge our faith today through science, history and philosophy.”

“I have faith because I have reasons,” said Yomes.

A daylong, interactive workshop on the introduction to apologetics will be held from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Reedswood Christian Church, located on Meredith Drive near Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.The workshop will offer a defense of God’s existence using scientific and philosophical evidence and will also discuss the historical resurrection of Jesus.
