The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation recently awarded $10 million in grants to 352 nonprofit organizations across multiple states, including 190 organizations in Virginia.
Among those receiving funding were two local organizations and one regional organization with a local presence.
Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic was awarded $5,000 for its Middle Peninsula Healthcare Safety Net program, while the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team received $2,500 for winter shelter needs. VersAbility Resources received $5,000 for supportive housing for adults with disabilities, primarily in Hampton.
The foundation supports a variety of additional programs and services, including access to healthy meals for seniors, enhancing accessibility at nature trails, expanding homeownership education for families in need, and therapeutic art programs for military service members, veterans and their families, among others.
