115 YEARS AGOThursday, Feb. 22, 1906from the Mathews Journal Mr. William Lilly met with a very bad accident Saturday while out in the bay driving stakes, he got his hand mashed very badly. It is feared that Mr. Lilly will lose some of his fingers. He is quite sick at this writing. We hope to see him out soon. Miss Annie C. Outland of Redart has closed her school near this place and has returned home. An interesting Valentine party was held at the Methodist parsonage last Thursday night. A Hallieford troupe presented the drama “A Poor Married Man” with marked success at Hallieford and Cobbs Creek last week.
