Since the carnival is coming to Gloucester next month (see story), we decided to ask our Facebook followers what other kinds of entertainment they would like to see come to Gloucester and Mathews. The top answer with 16.7 percent of the vote was a movie theater and entertainment complex, like Compass Entertainment Complex in Irvington. In second place with 13.6 percent of the vote was a bowling alley. Dave & Buster’s was respondents’ third choice at 12.1 percent of the vote. Next in popularity were a skating rink (10.6 percent), rage room (9.1 percent), Topgolf (6.1 percent), water park (4.5 percent) and arcade (4.5 percent). Other responses included an amusement park, escape room, rock climbing, go-karts, board game café, seasonal events like the rodeo, live music, community use space, YMCA, community pool, axe throwing and Pilates studio. This survey was conducted on Facebook through Google Forms. The chart was made using Canva.
