Local breweries win Craft Beer Cup awards

Two local breweries won awards in the 2019 Virginia Craft Beer Cup. The ceremony was presented by the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild at Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond Monday. 

The Gloucester Brewing Company was second place in the Alternative Fermentable Beer category for its “DeadRYEz” brew. Also, That Damn Mary Brewing Company, White Marsh, received third place in the Amber and Brown American Beer category for its “Easy Money” brew.

Nearly 300 brewers and supporters attended the competition, according to a release. This year, 342 beers in 35 categories competed for awards, making the Virginia Craft Beer Cup the largest state competition of its kind in the United States, the release stated. ...
