Local baker offers faux cakes for weddings

A local cake designer and baker is now making faux cakes, which are becoming more cost-effective alternatives to traditional wedding cakes. Tracey Esplin, owner of Cakes to Remember, located at Woods Cross Roads, in upper Gloucester. said faux cakes look and smell like a real cake, but are filled with foam to save the cost of actually baking the cake and its ingredients.

Also, Esplin shared some other news that she is now delivering her cupcakes to Dutton’s Grocery, also at Woods Cross Roads, every Thursday morning to be sold there.

“We are going to keep it at a once-a-week delivery until sales pick up in her store for cupcakes and then hopefully increase the cupcake deliveries to two times a week,” Esplin said. 

She said she has always had a love for the neighborhood market, which is owned by Adelaide Slaymaker and is excited to be able to share her talent with the grocery, which is celebrating 80 years in business.
