Big sheepshead and other award-sized fish have brought citations to several residents, as reported in the Aug. 24 version of the online vasaltwaterjournal.com.

Qualifying for citations in the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament were the following:

Sydney Hudgins of Gloucester, 11-pound, 4-ounce sheepshead caught Aug. 6 at the Gwynn’s Island Artificial Reef;

Chad T. Walker of Gloucester, 12-pound, 1-ounce sheepshead caught Aug. 9 at Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel;

Gerald Hudgins of Gloucester, 11-pound, 1-ounce sheepshead caught Aug. 15 at the CBBT;

Sam Hicks of Hayes, 13-pound, 12-ounce blueline tilefish caught Aug. 7 at Norfolk Canyon; and,

Donald Marshall of Hayes, 8-pound, 6-ounce flounder caught Aug. 6 at York Spit Light.
