Local anglers continue to haul in citation winners

Citations continue to be posted by the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for some of the most popular gamefish species found in Chesapeake Bay waters.

Cobia citations went to Brandon Clark of Hayes, for a 65-pound, 10-ounce fish caught June 21 at Cape Charles, while trolling with eel; Kyle Lewis of Gloucester, for a 51” fish caught and released May 30 while chumming in the Baltimore Channel; and to Kentie Lewis of Gloucester for a 50” fish caught and released at the same time and location.

Large red drum caught at York Spit and released (as required) brought home citations on June 22 for Brad Buck of Saluda (53”), Rylee Buck of Gloucester (49”), Kim Buck of Gloucester (46”), Enan Buck of Gloucester (47”) and Brenda Richotte of Saluda (50”).

Winning red drum citations on June 8 while casting lures in Chesapeake Bay were Larry S. Stewart Jr. of Gloucester, 48” fish; Aaron Leigh of Gloucester, 51”; and Kyle Stewart of Hayes, 46”.
